At Sun Hill we aim to make the transition from infants to juniors as easy as possible, As soon as you have confirmed your child’s place we begin to get to know them, so by the time September comes they are familiar with the new surroundings and what is expected of them.
Year 3 (Main Round) Admissions
If your child is in Year 2 and attends an infant school, you should apply for a Year 3 place at a junior school for September 2025. Applications should be made via the Hampshire County Council Portal
A paper application form can be used in exceptional circumstances, please contact the school office to request this.

National notifcation date for on-time applications: Wednesday 16th April 2025

Notification date for late applicants (whose applications were received after 15th January 2025 and before 16th April 2025): Tuesday 29th April 2025

Deadline date for parents wishing to lodge an appeal (submitting completed appeal form): Wednesday 21st May 2025

Appeal hearings to be held: 02 June to 22 July 2025, inclusive

Decision letters to be sent: Within five days of hearing
