Friends of Sun Hill Junior School

Friends of SunHill Junior school is a welcoming association who have a crucial role in supplementing and enhancing the learning environment of the school through fundraising. In the last few years, we have raised funds for the all-weather pitch, outdoor play equipment, library resources, and most recently thirty chrome books. We also fund and organise creative arts and science days throughout the school year.

Friends events are spread throughout the year- from back to school bonfires, to Christmas discos, to curry nights to duck race cafes. The main fundraising event is the spring fair- an afternoon of traditional maypole dancing, stalls, games, and water balloon fights.

As well as fundraising, involvement in friends promotes a greater understanding and closer integration into the school community and an opportunity to meet other parents.

All parents of children at the school are automatically members of the friends association and we are always keen to include other interested members of our community.  Involvement can be as much or as little as people are able to give- from helping on a stall at the spring fair to coming along to our half termly meetings to a role on the committee. It is hugely satisfying to be part of an organisation that supports the school in delivering high-quality education to our children.
