At Sun Hill we aim to make the transition from infants to juniors as easy as possible, As soon as you have confirmed your child’s place we begin to get to know them, so by the time September comes they are familiar with the new surroundings and what is expected of them.

In-year Applications

If you wish to apply for a school place to start at any other time or other year groups (an 'in-year' application) please contact the school to ascertain if space is available, then download an application form here.  Further advice is also available from Hampshire Children’s Services.

Year 3 (Main Round) Admissions

If your child is in Year 2 and attends an infant school, you should apply for a Year 3 place at a junior school for September 2021. Applications should be made via the Hampshire County Council Portal

Year 3 Placement Appeals

Due to the Covid pandemic, all appeals will be held based upon written submission. This is in line with the DfE’s School Admissions (England) (Coronavirus) (Appeals Arrangements) (Amendment) Regulations 2020.

Deadline date for parents wishing to lodge an appeal (returning completed appeal papers to the County Council) - Monday 17 May 2021

Appeal hearings to be held - From 07 June to 16 July, inclusive

Please note

(i) Appeals lodged after 17 May 2021 will be heard during the above dates if possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged. In this situation, the time frames given above may not be achieved. Appeals lodged on or after 15 June 2021 may not be heard until the autumn term but no more than 30 school days after the appeal was lodged.

(ii) Following the lodging of an appeal, additional papers may be submitted to the Appeals Service until 23 calendar days before the hearing. Evidence admitted after this date will be considered by the panel, but this may lead to an adjournment and significant delays.
