Lower School
Lower School Autumn 2020 Project Outcome
Throughout the Autumn term the children in Lower School were exploring the key question, 'What makes a house a home?'. The key concepts behind their learning were; community, transformation and purpose. The children learnt about houses and homes throughout different time periods including how and why houses were built as they were and what changed or stayed the same in houses / homes through time.
This understanding culminated with the children using design technology skills to design and build their own house, or home, from a particular time period. In creating these structures and choosing where to place them in a landscape they needed to apply their knowledge and finally answer, and evidence, the question - 'what makes a house a home?'.
